Climate Change Mitigation MOA

Former Senator and Climate Change Commissioner Heherson T. Alvarez (center) witnesses the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the five-year program of reforestation and watershed protection in the Cordillera Region thru the collaboration of private and public efforts. Tabuk City serves as the pilot area for the program that aims to mitigate climate change in the region by protecting the CAR river basin system that traverse the food production areas of the Cordillera and the Cagayan Valley provinces which sustain the life support system, primarily of Northern Luzon, and the entire country.

Signatories to the MOA are (l-r)  DENR PENRO Severino Dalutag, Dr. Eduardo Bagtang, president of the Kalinga Apayao State College, Mr. Roderick Ongcarranceja of Calapan Waterworks Corp.,Tabuk City officers representing Tabuk City Mayor Ferdinand Tubban -Councilor Arnold Tinedero and City Administrator Laurence Bayongan, and LikasDiwa Foundation managing director Marisol Ybañez.
