NAM honored freedom fighter

NAM Founding Chair, former senator Heherson T. Alvarez, puts the Ninoy Aquino Movement  (NAM) Medal of Valor to Mr. Steve Psinakis during the celebration of the 29th Death Anniversary of Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino at the NAIA 1 tarmac.  Psinakis was honored for “his single-minded exceptional commitment in the struggle for the restoration of democracy for his adopted country, the Philippines.”  Alvarez is assisted by (l-r) ATOM Chair and Ninoy’s brother, former Senator Butz Aquino, Cong. Raul Daza, Prescy Lopez-Psinakis, wife of Steve, and NAIA Manager Gen. Jose Angel Honrado.

NAM honored freedom fighters/members that provided outstanding service to the cause of freedom, justice, peace and democracy.  President Benigno S. Aquino III hailed the historic role of the NAM in the restoration of democracy in the country, citing the solidarity of the Filipino American community in the United States that lobbied against the Martial Law regime, exposed the corruption of the Marcos government and finally scuttling US support for the ailing dictator.
